Joel Bartlett, the founder of Joel Bartlett Architect Inc., brings his expertise as a registered architect in Ontario to a diverse range of projects. His firm has successfully designed and executed projects spanning custom residences, additions, alterations to existing buildings, offices, institutional facilities, industrial spaces, and retail/commercial facilities.
Drawing from his professional background, which included 16 years at J. David McAuley Architect Inc. in Guelph, Ontario, Joel served as an Associate of the firm. In this capacity, he skillfully managed all aspects hundreds of projects, from conceptual designs and programming, construction and contract document development, planning approvals, and contract administration.
Joel is committed to advancing the firm’s vision of environmentally sustainable and culturally sensitive architecture, utilizing his diverse experience in architectural design, including environmental and community considerations. He has been a certified LEED Accredited Professional and is a Certified Passive House Designer (CHPD). With over two decades of experience, his outstanding work has garnered recognition throughout the province.
Joel received his professional training at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture, graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor of Architecture with Honours. He also studied and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sciences at the University of Western Ontario in 1996.
Beyond his architectural achievements, Joel has actively engaged in community initiatives, contributing his time and expertise by volunteering on various community boards and committees, such as the Heritage Guelph Committee. This commitment reflects his dedication to both the architectural profession and the broader community.
